General Membership Meeting Sunday, 2 PM Rescheduled Guest Speaker__Julia Millan Shaw__Alaska Wilderness League! Special presentation at Sundays Clearwater Meeting In the far northeast corner of Alaska lies one of Americas great natural treasures, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Its nearly 20 million acres comprise one of the last places on earth where an intact expanse of arctic and subarctic lands remain protected. Critically important in its own right, whether to drill the Coastal Plain of the Arctic Refuge for oil or protect it as Wilderness is also a defining environmental issue of our time. Our guest speaker, Julia Milan Shaw, will present a slideshow detailing the Arctic Refuge and give a legislative update of the current threats to this special place. Julia Millan Shaw is the NJ Field Organizer for the Alaska Wilderness League. As a child in Anchorage, Alaska, she learned to love the natural beauty that surrounded her and is happy to be working to actively protect such a special place. She has worked with the League for 3 years in both PA and NJ protecting Wild Alaska. Eatontown Community Center, 72 Broad Street.
